• The amino acids Lysine, Arginine and Carnitine help to improve the protein synthesis mechanism, with a direct effect on cellular energy production. In particular, Carnitine facilitates energy production by conveying fatty acids to the sites where they are used
• The amino acids also have a fundamental role in the correct formation of collagen also in the vitreous humour
• The B-group Vitamins, especially Vitamins B2 and B6, are necessary for the production of energy from carbohydrates. Vitamin B6, in particular, represents the coenzyme of energy metabolism. Vitamin B12 is involved in cellular synthesis, and a deficiency of it can cause asthenia
• Magnesium helps increase protein synthesis and muscular contractility. When deficient, performance may diminish during physical exercise, with an increased occurrence of muscle cramps
• Potassium has a fundamental role in protein synthesis, in maintaining the body's water balance, in muscle contraction and in nerve transmission. It also activates a number of enzymes, especially those involved in energy production. A Potassium deficiency causes asthenia and lowering of arterial blood pressure
